Tomato stems

Never seen tom stems like the ones I am growing this year they are really thick, I am taking it as a good sign as they look happy but everyone else seems to have much thinner stems.

May just have to try from seeds every year if it is a good sign. Is it a sign of slow growth or strong plants or neither.
