I'll join the rust club

Me too,  but I only have little bits here and there,  noticed today for the first time.

Mine have succumbed and getting worse. I have about 50 percent of each plant covered. There are some nice bulbs under but I would like them to swell more before harvesting. My question is; will they continue to grow with that much rust on them?

So long as what's left of the leaf is still green, then it should continue to grow, albeit more slowly.

I pulled mine up two weeks ago.  They were completely covered with no green at all and were starting to die.  Small bulbs.  :(

Mine came out Wednesday.  When they are more orange than anything else, I give up and lift them.  I got an OK crop though, so if the leaves are 50/50, I would leave them a bit longer :)

I pulled mine last week, the leaves were shrivelling, so I reckon they wouldn't be growing much more.  They were okay, some big, some small as usual.  A usable crop.

mine too have rust on, as they are the same family as onions will the rust be able to pass onto and infect my onions?
Dear God, Please can you stop the wind and rain and bring on the nice weather. Amen

Garlic rust hasn't bothered the shallots I'm growing next to it.

good good panic over I pulled one up today and was quite surprise on the size,  would it be worth me pulling more up and storing them?

If they are still growing,  I would leave them, but if they are really rusty and not growing anymore, I would pull them and dry them out before storing.  Mine are in a blowaway 4 tier plastic greenhouse to dry.  The door is usually rolled up but I have put it down today, not zipped up though, as we are forecast very heavy showers.

Any dry, airy place will do to dry them out  :)
