Earwigs on Broad Beans.
« on: May 19, 2014, 13:43 »
I can see lots of Earwigs climbing all over my Broad Beans.  Are they harmful or helpful?  Should I spray them with anything?

Taken from http://www.rhs.org.uk/advice/profile?pid=494

Earwigs are omnivorous feeding on small invertebrates and plant material. They can help reduce some pest problems but they will also damage flowers and young leaves of clematis, dahlia and chrysanthemums and occasionally other plants.
