Sick Victoria Plum Tree - Any Ideas?
« on: May 16, 2014, 18:26 »
I have a Victoria Plum tree that's about 4 years old, it had loads of blossom this year, so I thought I was in for a bumper crop.

Things don't look good though, the tiny leaves that are on the tree have gone brown and the whole tree looks sick.

Any ideas what's wrong and how I treat it?

Doesn't look well at all, but plenty of plumbs coming. Are there any insects on the leaves?

Is there any possibility of there being any contaminant in the soil?

There isn't anything on the list of common plum problems on the RHS page re. plums:

I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Must confess my first thought was fireblight, but the RHS article clearly states it doesn't affect plums, so I'm puzzled!

Scroll down to plums and follow the links "Leaves/shoots dying off".

Looks like an advanced version of our plum, our leaves have curled really badly no sign of bugs etc.  ??? Ours are green still but not a lush green
