Will potatoes do ok in partial shade?

I need to move my bags of potatoes and I am thinking of putting them down the side of the house, will they tolerate partial shade?

They prefer full sun so it will depend on how long they are in the shade, permanent shade isn't any good, partial is a moveable feast, so need to work out how long they will be in the shade.
