Transplanting swedes?
« on: May 10, 2014, 14:44 »
I recently had my swede seedlings devastated by slugs so I sowed another batch in the house in one polystyrene tub. I have just realised that i should have put the, into modules to plant straight into the ground.
Will the seedlings be ok to prick out or would I be best to start again with peat pots or similar?

You should be ok to transplant as the swede is a swollen stem rather than a true root vegetable, so a bit of root disturbance is ok.
