Incase it never happens again or they die.
« on: May 02, 2014, 11:11 »
I'd just like to post these for the record, so in years to come I can remember I managed to grow them once. They are by far the most healthy cukes I have ever grown.

I have done absolutely everything you're not supposed to do with them, I started them far too early, every time I've potted them on I have buried them deeply, they've stood in trays of water in sodden compost and I've poured water all over them in direct sunlight.

Normally I coddle them, treat them with care an attention and they end up looking like picture #2 which was last years plant of the same variety, shortly before it joined the choir invisible  ::)

I'm green with envy - I transplanted 3 less than 90 mins ago, and 2 appear to be giving up the ghost already!

Lovely plant Lardman. I gave up mollycoddling my cukes years ago and always get a good crop. Last year Tiffany were amazing.  :D

Well now you know what to do!  :D

I never treat mine any other way and I've never had a cuke die on me. Many other things, but not a cuke.

I've got a photo #2 scenario going on here....

I wonder if this will become a more widely-used expression on this forum? It describes many of my gardening disasters perfectly, in only 9 words

Sometimes my plants grow despite, not because of, what I do to them.
