Yellow tips on garlic...
« on: April 28, 2014, 07:45 »
Hi guys.

My garlic has yellow tips on the leaves.

Is this a major issue?
When weeding, the best way to know if its a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull it.

If it comes out easy, it was a valuable plant !

If you prepared the ground well before planting and they haven't dried out then they are fine.  It's quite normal for the tips to yellow a bit and dry off. Loads of mine are like that as well.

Yellowing tips is a sign of stress. Too dry, too cold, too windy. They will get over it.

They are in the ground yeah, they look healthy enough, but all have yellowing tips... the top cm I guess.

Mine are far yellower than those. I thought about pulling some and using them as wet garlic.
