Maro peas - height

I bought some Maro pea seeds from DT Brown's. No height given on the packet. Checked their website and they say 90 cm, but another website says 1 m 55 cm.

Has anyone else grown these peas? How tall did they get?

Mine never reached 1.5 m or 60ins in old money

I'd say no more than 1 m tall

Did you have much success with them? I did a search and found no posts featuring Maro peas, so I guess they're not that popular.

They were good for mushy peas - they did what they said on the tin

and quite a good yield IIRC.

I thought they were a bit too floury to eat as fresh green peas, and dried ones are cheap enough in the shops, so haven't grown them again.

Thanks MoS. EXcellent advice on not eating as fresh peas - just the kind of info I needed. You can't get mushy peas here, dried or otherwise, and my OH loves them. So I've decided to give them a go. Any other advice you can think of gratefully received...
