I Have grown lots of varieties of potatoes in my greenhouse in grow bags and pots.  I have been topping them up with soil for weeks.  At night I cover them with fleece.  It is getting hot during the day and I am needing to water th them every day.  At what point should I bring them outside .  Will they be ok in a greenhouse during the day when it is getting hot.  I am finding it difficult to judge how much water to give them.  Thanks

If there's no risk of frost, there is no need for them to be inside.

Bring them out, but be prepared to whip them back in if a frost is forecast.

I find that the greenhouse potatoes develop a lot of weak top growth which is not able to stand up to the battering our west Cumbrian weather can give it. For that reason I leave them under glass but with all vents open and a fan blowing on hot days.

Had a furtle today and the first new spuds will be lifted this weekend.

When did you put yours in the greenhouse.  I put several in in mid Feb.  Some seem to have grown better than others.  I can leave them in the greenhouse but it will be warm in the day.

Is it true that tuber development stops if the temperature rises above about 30C?
