Cabbage Root Fly
« on: September 28, 2006, 16:10 »
Hi All,

just pulled a swede that was being overshadowed by the others, and found its got cabbage root fly. Pulled the one next to it which was also overshaddowed and that had evidence of root fly, but not so bad.

Can anyone suggest anything i can do at this late stage to erradicate the pesky things?

Kind of answered my own question on this one, read a dozen or so online papers about them, seems pretty much im stumped. Three infestations a year and not much can be done.

I will make sure next year i am more preventative. If i get a plot it will probably be invisible under masses of mesh and fleece.

Just hope some swede survives for Christmas
