Organisational help!
« on: April 19, 2014, 11:06 »
Hi all, this is what I have in my gh at the minute plus assorted flower and her seeds:

Orange habenaro x 3
Tomato marmaduke x 11
Cape gooseberry x 7
Aubergine x 7
Alias Craig x2
San marzano x4
Golden sunrise x3
Gardeners delight x8
Hot jalapeņo x4
Joes long x4
Black pearl x3
Burp less x5
Courgette x3
Pepper x2
Purple tomatillo x1
Basket of fire x 2
Rosella x3

Obviously courgette, burp less and basket of fire will go outside but what would you recommend keeping inside and what does better outside the gh given the fact that I have a standard size green house!! Thanks Anna x

Ha-ha! A bit over-sown, are we? happens...

Cape gooseberry also goes outside, tomatillo won't fit. Chillies generally seem tougher than sweet peppers and most tomatoes can be grown outside.

So keep your favs in.

Not sure about your location but Aubergines and Peppers definitely in the greenhouse and I've had no success with cucumbers outdoors-even ones "suited" for outdoor growth.

For the tomatoes try some of each variety in the greenhouse and the others outside-that way you know for next year.

I've managed to get a decent crop from burpless outside before now so fingers crossed again! I'm in the east (herts/Essex boarder near bishops Stortford)  are there any tomatoes which grow particularly well outside from my list or will it just be a matter of try them and see??

How big is this standard sized gh? I was thinking 6x6.

That's easily just about full with the 7 aub and 2 pepper plants.

Gardener's Delight and Golden Sunrise will be fine outside,  I have successfully grown both of those.   Not tried the other varieties though so can't speak from personal experience, but I believe San Marzano should be OK.   I do well with cucumbers outside.   I would keep the peppers and aubergines indoors.
