Freezing parsnips
« on: April 16, 2014, 14:53 »
Mods - please move if necessary. My OH has just come back from shopping with some frozen parsnips, I have tried to grow ones with a small core, but there are always hard and stringy bits in them. Does freezing help to reduce this?
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

No, but if your harvesting parsnips now they will be stringy as they,re putting out their flower stalk.

Why don't you remove the core, if that is the problem?
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?
