Can they be grown outside of the green house and how prolific is the crop compared to growing in the gh?

I have a friend who put out a sturdy cape gooseberry down on the south coast in a warm summer and said that it took over the garden. Needs to be large enough and hardened off enough after the "likelihood of frosts" whenever that is in your area.

My packet says they will grow outdoors in a sheltered, warm and sunny spot.

The tomatillos will be fine outside, but need staking as they do get big. You really need two to ensure pollination. I grew dwarf cape goosberries in a blow-away type greenhouse but hand pollinated to be sure of fruit. They only grew to about 20"tall.

I grew tomatillos outside on a fairly open allotment site and they produced quite a lot of fruit, but didn't get so big I had to stake them.  In fact if I remember rightly my instructions said not to stake them, just to let them loll about and they would make subsiduary roots where they were touching the soil, helping growth.

Friends grew them in the greenhouse and they did need staking there and grew twice as big as the ones outside.

Cape Gooseberries are actually triffids not normal plants when grown outside down here, the leaves are 18" across and the height around 8 foot..... Never again....

Cape gooseberries can be grown outside and they seem to be perennials. I've grown them in a potato planter (I was going to grow them in the greenhouse but ran out of space). I cut them back and put the planter in the unheated greenhouse last year and the year before and they have survived the winter and are growing and starting to flower already. I'll move them outside when the last chance of a frost has gone.

They need staking and support as they grow quite large and the pot needs to be well supported or it will blow over.

It depends where you are in the UK. Stick to growing them in a Greenhouse in the North of the UK, if you want a decent ripe crop.
