Seed potatoes
« on: April 07, 2014, 13:50 »
Hi all

I purchased some seed potatoes earlier this year and set them to chit.  Yesterday, as I brought them to the allotment I noticed they were slightly green. (They were exposed to sunlight as they sat on a windowsill).

Are they safe to sow or should I discard?

Many thanks in advance.

Kenneth

Green is fine for planting (you don't eat that one!)

Don't eat any of your actual crop which are green though, although none of them will be if you've earthed them up correctly.
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!
