Peas.  I know it's embarrassing- everyone can grow peas can't they.  Well not me.  They've had their time and they're now on the banned list.  Once on the banned list they have to stay there for three years until their attitude improves.

Celeriac and cauliflower are on a warning

Borlottis perform but I'm not convinced they are worth the space for the yield...  :(

I have a similar experience. They grow but if you see what you end up with at the end of the season you are wondering if it was worth your while.

Last year I tried a runner bean version of borlotti and it still wasn't worth it.

This year no borlotti beans for me.

I have also given up on onions from seed. One year they go well, next year they don't.

Oh... and redcurrants which perform too well but take too long to pick and I don't really have use for them. Is that unfair?

Seems fair to me  - all my currants came out 2 years ago for the same reasons.

I should also add parsley to my list - I've had 1 good year, ever since it's been really poor.

Parsley is from the same family as carrots and parsnips, and is often the unsuspected victim of carrot fly attack too which can easily stop it in its tracks or even kill it - I usually enviromesh mine, at least for a few weeks after transplanting.
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

Is that the curly parsley you're having trouble with?

The Giant Italian flat-leafed parsley is idiot-proof, I reckon  ;)

But you have heard the old wives' tale about parsley - that it grows well where the woman 'wears the trousers'?!?  :D  Could explain MoS' success?  :nowink:  Sorry Lardman - could be expensive to solve that one!

(There is another about pregnancy, but I'll go on record about that being rubbish!)

It was.

Trying flat leaved this year - although I can't recall if it's Italian or French.  ::)

There are 1001 wives tales about it - there's another about the devil and germination :nowink: I only use a bit in sauces so I won't be any extreme measures  :nowink:

Seeds: verbena bonariensis and foxglove.  Both no shows through two goes.  If they don't get a wiggle on, they are oot!
Foxgloves no show?? I have masses of them all over the place!! I know they're biennials but have never had a problem with them germinating in my garden. Just as a thought - do they need light to germinate as some seeds do as I let mine go to seed so they just fall on top of the soil.
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

I've never heard that one but....I've never had any trouble with getting it to germinate or grow well - even with seed past its sow-by-date!  8) As for my last warning it has to be sprouts. I love them, but if I cover them with netting, little heeby-jeebies get them. If I don't cover so the birds can eat the heeby-jeebies, the caterpillocks get them. I don't spray them with anything (as my OH says I should) but would love some advice here as what to do.
