Best way to prepare soil for potatoes
« on: March 29, 2014, 20:52 »
The area we are due to plant potatoes had manure added in the autumn.   I also have organic potatoe fertilizer to add.  I have been given allot more potatoes first second and main crop.  I have a area which I plan to plant them but it wasn't manure.    What would be best to add to the soil I have chicken pellets and grow organic.

I would give them as much as you can as they are deemed to be "hungry"
I have just had a similar situation to you and added rotted manure chicken manure pellets and even the odd bit of grow more !

Hopefully I haven't overdone things!!

We will see

Good luck

I'd use the grow organic where you've manured, and the potato fertiliser on the unmanured area..... can't think of a real reason why, but it's just what I would do  :nowink:
