Bleary good morning to all. Went to bed as usual but was awake by 11.30, got up at 1.45. Not happy, but get so cross lying in bed trying to sleep which makes things worse. :(

I so know that feeling
Well I went back to bed at 3:30 & eventually went sound off to sleep about 5. To be woken by the phone at 6, it was my uncles care home telling me he was much worse & if I wanted to see him I should go. Once I was up I rang them back & on discussion that it would take me 2 hours or so I decided not to go. I rushed up on Saturday & came back yesterday afternoon. They rang 3/4 of an hour later to tell me he had died so I wouldn't have got there. A sad day. Now to go to work & find out how the powers that be think it will be alright to make me & my colleagues redundant  :(

Aw I'm sorry about your uncle. What a rotten day you have ahead of you. :(

I've got nothing to moan about, don't have to go anywhere or see anyone, just pity my OH.

Thank you all, it really helps having all those kind wishes. I got through it & I'm back home ensconced on the sofa & that's where I'm staying until I go to bed early  ;)

A cat nearly puking on your bed is better than any alarm clock!! ::) >:(
Just managed to knock her off the bed in time!! But then, you're awake - over half an hour before the alarm is due to go off!! ::)

Oh dear Emma, worse than my early phone call of yesterday I should imagine. When I lived at home with M & D our cat slept on my bed & when he wanted to get up he used to walk on me to wake me, if that didn't work he would tap my face with his paw,sit on me & sniff my nose, & if that didn't work he would walk on the dressing table & gently knock things off ,on purpose. That always got me up

Sounds familiar! What about kneading the cover so you can hear all those threads pulling and purring at top volume at the same time. And surely our little blighter should have stopped trying to suck fingers at six months? . I got up, OH went back to bed. The cat played and made a nuisance of himself and has worn miself out.

Morning all. Glad you managed to get some sleep Snowdrops
