Ooof, that is still 2 weeks of cold and suffering.

I have told our plumber/heating guy that I love him on many occasions. He is amazing. he busts a gut to sort out heating problems quickly so we aren't cold.

We have an address book of reliable builders, tillers etc. built up after years of moving and house renovations.

Mr Bee is amazing at all sorts of DIY and does perfect jobs, but he also knows when it is a case of GSI.

Hope it is sorted out soon and you can get warm. Let's hope the snow stays up North until it is.

Thanks Mrs Bee :)

Ben is quite handy around the house and can do a bit of plumbing and electrics, as well as decorating (when I make him help me on occasion ::)) but he to knows his limits ;)

My heater's been bust since Saturday! The chap says he might be here tomorrow - but then he might not!
As he told me yesterday he would be here between 9am-12noon and then turned up at 4:15pm while we were at work, I don't hold out much hope for his accuracy....Maybe he's a weather forecaster in his spare time - or is that a plumber in his spare time....?

Oh yes, they need to know their limits.

Mr Bee knows the theory of taking radiators off to paint behind but all excursions into the world of plumbing have resulted in wet carpets and floods. Mr Bee and plumbing do not mix.

And some jobs these days are relegated to professionals. He is a really good tiler and I am brilliant at grouting but we are having a tiler to do the bathroom 'because he will do a better and quicker job' unquote.

I read that as I want to hurry up and get the decorating done and go and play on the allotment and on the extra plot he has acquired.

Oh my radiators... When we replaced our old boiler we had to drain all the radiators and later fill them back up. Not going to name names, but someone had put the wrong radiator bleed valve in the wrong radiator, so when it came time to fill the system back up, Niagara Falls came spewing out of one!  Normal people pay to have theirs replaced by a professional, but we here aren't quite normal anyway😜

Bleurgh! Mornin' all.

It's insane to be up at this hour as far as I'm concerned!!!  :tongue2:
Cat woke us up at 5:30am - alarm wasn't due for me until 6:15am!!!
Should have just got up then, but no, sleep is too precious and I probably zonked out again 10 minutes before the alarm went off! >:(
Day 12 no heat/hot water. Filled the bath last night with pans of hot water and kettles  :(

Back to strip down washes from a sink for the moment then DBG - Good that you can now get it repaired, I replaced ours last year with a newer Vailient Boiler as the old one had lasted nearly 20 years had had given great reliable service over that time.

The new unit is so quiet I have to strain to hear it working

We have just had our boiler serviced. It was replaced about eight years ago, and is also a Vailent. The engineer did say this was one of the most reliable on the market and it certainly is economical.

Hope that is helpful DBG  :)
