Morning all, been awake since 4am in hotel for a course. Just having breakfast - a luxury usually.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Back from another foray with the cameras, thought we might as well wander along the river by the feed merchant. With it being so hot and green it feels weird to see flocks of swallows, sand martins and bee eaters getting ready to leave. The weather has had me fooled, but not them. (there is not normally any rain to speak of in summer)

Morning Paul - not usually logged on this early, but the bloomin' squabbling magpies woke me up again, although needless to say now I'm up they've stopped!

I'm assuming you have been very busy rather than on an extended holiday.  ::)

Hi JayG.
I've had very little spare time recently. Not on holiday (life's one long one for me apparently) but it feels like a holiday as my sister has vanished to France for her 3rd break this summer so I'm relaxed!!   ;)

Dead tired tonight after just 2 hours sleep last night and only a short nap during the day. Tempted to go to bed early... well, before 2.

Take care.... hope you're in the pink.

Morning all. No let up with the heat so another nearly sleepless night, it is 30 in the bedroom with two windows and the door open and fan on full blast. We have been promised a ten degree drop in temperature to a chilly 25 by Monday. We will all be very grateful.

We are up to nearly forty in the shade, which is OK for a week or so, but it has been a prolonged hot spell even with the rain we had a while back. There seems to be a constant grumble of thunder which is not good for Bonnie lab, with no rain at the end of it, just a hot, stressed dog and hot stressed and tired us. Bella is OK, she takes it in her stride, loves her life.

Haha, yes, and our first winter was mild and dry leading to horrendous mite and general insect problems, but a very rare ocurrence. The winters are generally extremely cold, down to the minus twenties and below, but short and generally sunny when not snowing. January and february are worst they say, though this year we were eating al fresco in january! We will not be as lucky (ish) this year and are laying down plenty of provisions for if we get stuck and can't get out. Luckily with the long summers we can grow potatoes and peas and even tomatoes still if you can get plants (there were some small plants in the market this morning) so although early crops were badly hit by very unusual weather conditions there is still time to stock up some things....as long as winter doesn't arrive early.

I don't like the heat either and work my days around it. But the hot weather has gone on so long without any respite that we are worn out with it. I am running with sweat already and it is still only 10.30. Why oh why did I buy raspberries for jam this morning? Hey ho, we'll live. :D Now, would I rather be here worrying about sweating but being able to do little....or  be pushing a trolley round Tesco doing someone else's shopping? No brainer I think.

Morning all, awake early this morning probably from the excitement of getting a new caravan.
Might just go and add to my diary while I have a minute.

Morning all, having a gentle start to the day today after all the excitement of my birthday yesterday, hubby glossing the paintwork in the downstairs loo as we speak, then we are going out for the day.
A woman's place is in her garden.
