Morning Cadalot. Yes, too dark to let the chooks out when l get up around 4am, but they see the light go on when the dogs go out and start battering on their door. I'm sure the pine martens would be happy to be presented with an early morning snack!

First snow of the year here in Bulgaria in the mountains. Still in the 20s lower down where we are.

good morning, last off  first on were is everybody?

Busy. We have had a mouse in the spare/junk room so are going through all the bags and boxes again. Caught a mouse and sorted through some stuff for car booting. Now to wash all the winter clothes and bedding and cutains stored in the room. Refusing to believe one small mouse can do all that poo and wee, stinks once disturbed. Not happy.

When we moved here we were happy to have so much loft and cellar space, outbuilings and garage. But nowhere is rodent proof, they are even between the wall and plasterboard as the gaps between them at the top were never filled when it was 'renovated' Constantly catching rats and mice at the moment in the loft. Everyone is saying they have the same problem, population explosion after last year's mild winter.

Can't get the normal spring rat/mouse traps here.....may be a money making idea there....they have live traps and glue traps, don't agree with the way they use either, slow death. They also use poison, not keen with so many feral cats and chickens about, never mind the stink if they die behind the plaster board. Others are happy if feral cats are killed.

I'm often on here about that time for one last look before I go to bed - it's the time difference, about 6 hours.

Oh dear Tosca, what a job to deal with. I wouldn't like them in the walls, why can't people 'renovate' properly. We're house hunting today & I'm dreading what dodo we'll see. Hubby is a master craftsman so hates stuff not done as it should be. Good news is we've sold our house after 4 weeks on the market at the asking price if it all goes through, so shows he knows his stuff as we've gutted this house & want to do the same to the next one :D

good morning, last off  first on were is everybody?

Am still up early, but no internet at home for the last 25 days...am with you all in spirit, and it does give me space to focus on my plot plans/meal planning.

Congrats Snowy on selling the house!  :)  Hope you find something you like.

Snowdrops congratulations on selling so quickly. Have you found another then? Hope it has a nice wall for the wildlife.

It's 'normal' to bodge building work here. Because everything is so cheap, including labour, it figures that jobs are done on the cheap unless a decent builder is doing it for themselves. No point on spending £5000 on a house that's only worth £10000 renovated.
