Up early this morning (usual time really) as on the 7.30am ferry to England to  meet my sister and clear my mum's flat.   Not looking forward to it at all.

My thoughts are with you Wighty, my sister and I had to clear our Mums house when she passed away, so I know what you mean

We had the same thing earlier in the year when my father-in-law died in Spain where he lived.  Not nice at all but a job that has to be done :(

Wighty will be getting on the ferry about now, so I'll answer for her.  Her mum is moving into a care home as she has been unwell recently.  Its a stressful time so I'm sure she will be glad to know you are thinking of her  :)

Morning all,

Have a good day Snowy - I've got an exciting day of going to pick up the chickens! That's if everything will fit into the back of the car...

It all fitted in then as I've Just seen your pictures on your diary

Yes :D and lovely they are too - if a little terrified of me! I'll keep bribing them until they like me though :~)

Up at 6 this morning to let them out!

I'll just re quote this from New Shoot so there is no confusion.

Thank you for your thoughts, appreciated.  It went a lot better than I thought it would as four years ago we moved her from a house into a flat for 'over 65's', and so had cleared most of the 'rubbish' away then. Three trips to the dump today and two to the British Heart Foundation  (Which is one of my Mum's problems) five miles away who take anything you want to give them.  Anything I wanted to bring home here to the Island m y sister did not argue with, ( which surprised me).  I have 28 Caithness Glass paper weights, 24 Caithness Glass vases, my Dad bought them each year for my Mum as a present.  Tim from Shanklin Auctioneers is a very good friend of ours and he is coming round next week. I had to bite my tongue a few times because there could have been a row!
