I have grown Golden beetroot ,and found that they have a strong earthy taste, less sweet than the traditional red varieties. I am sure they would make decent chutney though

Golden are delicious and cook a lot quicker.

Grew a white one called albina verunduna or similar last year. They are fine as a novelty but not as good eating as traditional red or yellows.

I don't like pickled stuff but after cooking the golden beet, thought they were like a cross between a squash and a potato and made a tasty change to veg on the plate.

I'm hoping to grow Albina this year ... we'll see how they turn out

I grew the golden last year & thought it tasted good if a little different to red, made for pretty colours on the plate.
