Mick is asking about growing in  polytunnel, not an outside bed. It will be two months before I sow outside. (Providig it ever stops raining).

Personally I wouldn't bother with parsnips as they have such a long growing season. Space in a polyunnel can be used for better effect. I would consider a few carrots to get an early crop, but not too many.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

As DD said its not worth growing parsnips, as they just turn inyo triffids. But carrot, they are great as you can pulll them when young and sweet and regular. You can also sow through out the year. Iv'e just put carrotts in now and later will sow between the chillies and tomatoes That way i've got fresh carrots over the crimbo.
