I'm now very close to being able to insert the kamikaze gene into any vegetable that people don't actually like to eat, or can't be bothered to find out how to grow - it self-destructs before they even have to worry about harvesting it.

I wondered if you were extracting this gene from cucumber plants, Jay?

How did you guess? My GH cukes have been the principal source of the gene over the past 3 years, although the yield is very poor needless to say!  ::)
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

I can send you some cucamelon seeds to splice with them if you want  ;)  They take the cucumber suicide gene to a whole new level and need to be in intensive care to get them going

Mind you, get them past the sickly seedling stage and they turn into rampaging triffids, so maybe not

Sowing these seeds is a bit like Arkwright's till...

You either get your fingers trapped, or your money is just swallowed, never to be seen again...

so what do u think anyone planning in trying this out

I think the same as I did last season. If your willing to pay 15 quid on what is basically, one spud, and one tomato plant, you want your head read. Novelty or not.

All a bit weird for me. I'll stick to a row of spuds and a few tomato plants I think!
