I am not to sure I should post this, as it does indirectly encourage further seed purchase ....

..... do not throw away seeds of anything remotely brassica like, or root crops, celery, celeriac, or herbs as you can sow these very thickly in shallow trays and use the small plants at the first proper leaf stage as microgreens.

Peas and beans can be used as shoots too, only not so  'micro'

Less waste than throwing them out, and even those out of date may well have sufficient germination to succeed like this  :D

I had a lot of old pea and bean seeds which I wasn't too sure about and raked them in a bed on the plot as a home made green manure - I was amazed that even very old seed still managed to germinate

What about Spudmania. A condition caused by visiting a potato day and buying many more seed potatoes than one intended. Now need to work out where to put them all!!

Cheers HH
Keep digging

I think the Kral turnip rooted parsnip seeds are unavailable in the UK, but the Cherokee Trail of Tears beans can be bought from the Real Seeds catalogue  ... not that I'm encouraging anyone to buy more seed ...

Not content with the 12 different varieties of peppers and chillies, I put in some fresh seeds from the lovely sweet peppers from Aldi,  'Sweet Bites', a few days ago and this is what I came back from holiday to:

from here

Says on there that they are just a bit milder than hungarian hot wax. I saw them on a chilli ethusiast's site...won't bother if they are really mild. :(

OK, everybody. This seed addiction has to be resisted to the best of our abilities. I'm doing my best, not so much by not looking at my seed box or seed sites any more but by looking at my plot.

The question is:

Where am I going to put all my planned plants?

If I add anything else, something is going to have to go...

I'm also getting a bit fed up with not getting enough sleep at night. I wake up, start counting onions and then it's no good, I can't doze back off again.

Ok I admit it  I too have a seed problem.

Hi My name is Ma and I am a seedaholic.
It started when I joined this great forum. I tried to control it but temptation was put in front of me everyday and now I can't help myself.
