Dug over the bed for my French beans. Added some manure and a bit of grow more for luck.
Put up some hoops and covered with netting.
More excitement at home my tomatoes and courgettes have germinated

Cheers HH

Dug over and manured, and have decided what and where i'm going to plant, leekes need to be pulled and eaten.
3 rows of potatoes
2 rows of onions,
2 of beetroot
2 of carrots
and 1 wigwam of runner beans.
I'll leave enough space on the end of one row of leekes.
Will rotovate and plant next week.
Cheers
Aled

Managed to get my Runner Bean frame up yesterday. First time making one for me so I hope it stays up when the plants grow!! I planted out some dwarf French beans under a cloche, mowed the plot, weeded, thinned out carrots and parsnip, re-planted my mint and did some general tidying as well as watering and chatting to plot members. All in all a very productive day  :)

Dug over, raked and de-stoned 3 beds. I am sick of stones!   :nowink: I also weeded round the strawberries and noticed them starting to flower so I had best net them this week. Later this afternoon I will sow some beans, kale and whatever else I find in my seed tin that needs to be done this week.

Just got word today that my new hut is to be delivered tomorrow!  Yey!  So I will have to go to the plot this afternoon to clear the space where it is to go, pronto, and dismember the existing shed.  That will be interesting!

Gave everything a good water as have been away for a few days and the ground seemed very dusty/dry.
Weeded the onions and shallots and all coming along lovely.
Peas doing fine and first lot of broad beans have loads of flowers. Hope that's a good sign of the pods to follow. Kohl rabi has produced good growth and fingers crossed it will keep going. Had a disaster with it last year.
Turnips, pakchoi, palla rossa, swede and carrots seedlings popping their heads out of the ground. Beetroot very patchy though.
Planted out 12 lettuce left over from the garden raised beds and 30 cauliflower. Netted cauliflower and felt well chuffed with the days work.
I have my own cement mixer and not afraid to use it!!

Planted out some guttering of peas, not sure which as all my labels have washed off already despite permanent marker!     I think they are the purple flowered ones, carouby something, and some poached egg plants which might look good together.  Found loads of slugs under the weed suppressant I'd put down to warm the bed up so did away with them.

Planted out some more brassicas, really fed up with the first batch being munched despite pop bottles, pellets and netting.  Had a re-think and changed to white net curtain over- last year I found the shade debris netting was a slug magnet.... and I have a new roll in the garage

180 onions planted and the summer cauli is in.

After a wander I decided to net the brassicas because I saw a huge cabbage white butterfly.

Just bought a pack of living salad (lettuce) from Lidl for 89p and transplanted 60 lettuce into gravel trays of compost to have handy at the house for cut-and-come-again.  Could easily have done the  again from the pack.
