Went up for a walk around the plots about 5pm yesterday. Still got a cough and bit breathless but had to do something, so cut down daffs that were past their best, put comfrey into a bucket and covered with water and plastic water bottle over the top (the large ones used in offices) to make feed for later on. Felt exhausted and then walked back home. Got in just after 6.30pm and still light!
I have my own cement mixer and not afraid to use it!!

Cleared a patch of wild rocket. I can't believe anyone actually buys seeds for the stuff - it's the worst weed by far round these parts.

Gave instructions to oh on where to put ash, muck and ground hoof and then hot-footed it back to my desk, leaving him to dig up the few dock in veg patch two and then rotavate.

I'm taking a few days off work from tomorrow afternoon onwards, so with any luck I'll have a bit more to report then. Hope so - there's plenty to do. Still haven't started my tom and pepper seeds.

Planted the spuds, shallots and the first of the beetroot and half a tray of radish. O/h diligently dug over 2 more beds for me.

Dug up a tree .... phew. Planted out a lot of brassicas, beetroot, turnip. Final greenhouse position for furthest on tomatoes and experimental peas.

Planting out takes time. In some ways I prefer the digging and prep. I don't like the netting process. I tend to do half a job and then come back and do a better job later. Not best practice but it's how it is.

Dug a trench for my taties, but when it slowly filled with water, I decided to leave it until another day :(

Today I sowed two rows of peas... but not on my plot! I have started volunteering at a church community garden project.  I did bring a hawthorn seedling home and planted it in my hedge up the allotment.

Checked plot again after 3 days. Strawberries are growing ok without any sign of slugs. Few have got flowers already..
Blueberries doing ok for the moment.

Only worrying is that the ants dont seem to want to leave from under the black woven fabric next to a blackberry and a strawberry. Tried to dig it out again but cant find where their hole is.
There is too much grass nearby...

Popped in on the way home from work, to water my seedlings in the greenhouse , noticed cats have been using my raised bed as a loo, so glad I've not sown anything in it yet. >:(

Didn't get to the plot yesterday (will this flu ever go) so spent the day repairing/ making new brassica nets. It's a job that needed doing so did achieve something, even though there is loads to do at the lottie.
Hoping to have a mega day tomorrow.

Potted on my psb seedlings and my leeks in the greenhouse, tied the blackberries, loganberries, tayberries to the supporting wires. Grand kid's sunflowers need potting on as well in the greenhouse, so a job for them this weekend.
