planted Khol Rahbi out, moved marigolds, cabbbages into the coldframe, planted pea guttering seedlings outside under fleece, watered beetroots and carrots which are just showing.   repotted toms.  Fixed new waterbutt on plot.

80? Fantastic..
Planning to increase my strawberries to 12.
Blueberries doing well.. 2 raspberries have got new growth spurs from the ground and 1 of the blackberry.

The remaining are not showing anything for the moment.

Finally found some ants under the weed suppresant fabric so monitoring these...

Do you water plants when it is so hot?

Yep - another 80! To add to the 80 or so i've already got potted :-) Have to water when it's hot, that's the downside of so many plants!

Good day on the plot. Planted up all of my spuds.
Chopin and lady christal earlies plus lady Balfour  and Romano .
Filled up both the planned and recently created back up bed all told 60 seed potatoes.
Hopefully they will enjoy the warm weather

Cheers HH

Keep digging

Potato bags out of the cold greenhouse.  Plenty of haulm on these.  I'll have to be wary of the frost over the next few weeks.  I've fleece and bubble wrap ready.  Planted out a row of spinach and sowed another.  Cleared one of last years beds of Kale and chard.  Ive been hanging these up in the chicken run for the girls to peck at.  A nice addition to their diet.  Dug the bed over and ready to sow today.

I got a huge bag of pearlite for a quid at a car boot sale then realised that I don't use the stuff  ::) . So I made 3 hypertufta bowls and troughs. Drying out nicely now and if they work, I'll put into the compost heap for a while to "age" them and hopefully will make nice additions for our patio.

Sowed some new parsnip seeds, I just realised that the previous sowing's seed was about 2 years old.

Fitted a new cover to the water butt, an old anorak with the downpipe from the shed roof cunningly slotted in the sleeve.

How often do you water them?

Are you planning to freeze some of the strawberries?

Attacked the jungle area again - another 10m squared done. Only about 20-30 to go I reckon so nearly there from the 250m squared I started with! Unfortunately the brambles didn't go without a fight and I am covered in scratches  >:(
At home I transplanted the sprouts and kalibos cabbage into individual pots where they can get nice and big before going on the plot. They will be outside during the day and in the blowaway at night for now so hopefully that will be enough protection at night. I think that's what I did last year but I can't remember!

I might have to sow some more leeks as there is still no sign if any in the cat litter tray and they were sowed over a week ago. They have another 3-4 days....

Worked all weekend, so just had time to tend to the greenhouse seedlings. Takes a lot of doing this time of year.
Picked continuing luscious PSB. Oh, and hand pollinated some early greenhouse strawberries, a first year experiment.

Holes bored filled and parsnip seeds in.

Also got 2 rows of beetroot sown.

Planted out the onions in modules and looking at the rest I have sown from seed I need 3 times the space I have

Finally found some strawberry stacking towers in the 99p shop. So repotted 43 plants (started as about 20 before I split the crowns). Still leaves me with about 65 to go... it seems every time I look at a Strawberry plant at the moment it multiplies!

Spent a couple of hours on the plot after work ,weeded the onion and garlic bed, and then tided the shed and green house , a good way to unwind ,after cooking breakfast and lunch for 48 people , at least I don't have to cook tonight   :D
