After Day one of my holiday comprising of Dentist (root canal plus 2 extractions, and the rest of the day waiting for 2 new tyres and a puncture repair (the locking nuts broke off and had to be removed), this morning started back at the tyre shop to have the non repaired punctured tyre replaced. Next came the rearrangement of the garden and removal of the decking to get ready to build the base wall for the new conservatory extension, so no plot yet, if the weather is not good enough for trench digging it will be plot tomorrow, to plant the half price asparagus plants that the wife bought (as if a free conservatory to put up wasnt enough to do.)

An early start to avoid the rain allowing me to plant out the PSB and last sowing of minipop sweetcorn. Staked the asparagus, fed a few things with chicken pellets (impending rain should wash this nicely into the soil) and did lots of weeding.

too wet this morning, so decided to finally start building my new shed, supervised by the cat,

Sun is now out, so off to water the plants inside the greenhouse, hopefully a spot of weeding, and I need to measure my shed base at the lottie, I may have made the frame a little too wide  ???

edit: shed will fit the base no problem, oh and I lifted all my garlic, the bulbs have swelled nice and large, opened one for tonight's meal  :tongue2:

Bravely braved a dodgy knee to get to the plot. Took me thrice as long to walk there as usual - so 15 mins or thereabouts.
Planted the last 12 of my sweetcorn - took me over an hour and all I was doing was cutting though fabric, scooping out a hole and putting the plants in.
Ten minutes of hoe action...
Bit of a chat - someone naughty has been putting the old render from a house refurb down as a pathway between beds... tut tut.
Absolutely cream crackered by the time I'd staggered home. Glass of lager later and all is well...

Cheers,
Balders

just a quick visit with all of us to have a look round and see what needed doing (weeding and planting) I need to spend a whole day at each 1/2 plot, just to get it back under control. I know where I will be spending my next few weekends.

Re-homed three blackcurrant bushes to little Ann. Moved the last 9 Big slabs up the hill and 6 smaller slabs down to little Ann.

Re- homed 30-35 raspberry canes who were just growing where they felt like it....... Not anymore

Put in cucumbers in greenhouse, put out swiss chard. Potted on some bits at home.

Planted my Musselburgh leaks at last. Soil nicely moist so easy to dib, and the hole held together well in the clay soil.

Three beautiful hours of weeding done, very happy, not one other person on site. Then they all turned up and it was another two hours drinking tea. I feel like a new woman

Got home and potted up 5 stray rooting gooseberries.
Hubby now gone up to help one of the old girls put in some posts for her soft fruits.
