Samphire   The slowest growing seedlings I have ever grown - they even made the cucamelons look speedy

Worth perservering with though DBG as I now have 2 pots of plants that have made nice pickings for adding to salads through the summer  :)

I really wish I had space at home for this! Living in a flat really does put a crimp in my seedaholism.  :(

1st year with a plot so loads more space than I'm accustomed to - and a greenhouse as well.

So nothing particularly exciting or unusual going in this year, but new for me:
cucamelon
onions from seed (inspired by the thread)
melon
purple carrots
winter squash, crown prince and kuri (never had the space before)
Cheltenham green top beetroot (along with my usual golden, white and Chioggia)
main crop spuds
raspberries
red and white currants

Don't encourage her!!!!

I'm expecting it to be slow and faffy but looking forward to trying. I shall sow samphire in 2 deep pots.  ;)

Oi! What are you inferring DBG?!  :D  :D

Surbie Towers only has one proper sunny windowsill - and I need that for seedling shelves. *sigh*

No, so I had to google and found the seeds for sale on the Suttons site under James Wong plants with some other curious plants ... it would be a mistake for seedoholics to have a look LOL

Yes, I saw them in the Suttons catalogue. My only reservation is that they might have the same 'after effects' as Jerusalem Artichokes...

I had good success with Salsify and found easy to grow and much easier than parsnips to dig.  May try scorzonera this year as well.  I will try any new tomato or chilli that comes my way.

I have had some success with Pac Choi but like most people I find that you cannot sow direct as it is a slug magnet, they even climb over the slug pellets to get at it.  I always grow in pots until they are of a size where they can cope outside.
