Overwintering trailing geraniums
« on: October 25, 2013, 12:03 »
Hi
I had a really good show of trailing red geraniums for my 6 window boxes this year.  It was the best show I've ever had.  I'd like to try and hang onto them if I can.  How best to do it please?  Although I have a greenhouse it's not heated.  I do have a spare south facing windowsill upstairs that I could stick them on to keep them frost free.

Ideas/experience please.

Thanks in advance
OG

Give them a prune back and keep them on the windowsill, unheated greenhouses are too cold - I know from experience  :(

Water them very little, just enough to keep them alive through the cold dark months. Pot them on in Spring and they should grow away quite happily  :)
