Goji Berries

As said Goji will not grow well in waterlogged ground, but should be ok in a raised bed. They can be a bit of a monster if not pruned, the best way is to grow attached to a stake and pruned to a small tree shape. Any shoots rapidly growing straight up or at 45 degree should be cut back to the stem these are growth shoots and if left will give you some fruit at their tip, but you have lost control of the plant.  Likewise any shoots coming from the ground should also be cut out, growth and root shoots just take away nutrient from the plant reducing fruit. The eventual shape you should look for is similar to a small Willow; trim so the trailing branches don't touch the ground. Aim to get to that stage after about four years, there will be a small crop in year three, but from year four onwards should give good results. Feed in the same way as any fruit bush, the small purple flowers eventually turn into bright red berries expect to harvest about now.
