To be honest Sparkyrog No, you'll save money buying the kit singularly...The Fermentation Bucket With Lid is £9.50 from Wilkingsons, the racking cane, spoon, funnel, jug, airlock,  cost in the region of £2 = £3 each. The Hydrometer cost around £5 with the test tube. These type of  Pressure Barrels are not great when it comes to holding the pressure, it has no way of injecting Co2 so that will cost you more. I'll have a look around the web and pop some links up for you.

Take a look in your local free papers, try the freebie sites, www.Gumtree.co.uk  can be worth a look, or try and see if your local pub may have a beer/cider one they may let you have.
