Hi Mo.
I would check the instructions on the product.
It may cause respitory problems if inhaled by your hens.
I would use poultry shield or smite.

Sorry, I don't know. However, a good spider repeller is a conker. Just leave them in corners on the floor and around skirting boards. :)

Right time of year to start collecting them as well. :)

Absolutely!

Mrs Growster has already started the collection, but they also go on window sills, and I can even see one of last years lurking on a plate here...;0)

Conkers really do work.  I had a basket full in my lounge (ancient house - loads of hiding places for spiders / mice / keys / husband etc  ::)).  Downside was that we had mice in the house last Autumn c/o the cat and it seemed that the mice liked a nibble or two on the conkers and also liked to move them round the lounge during the night.  So, out went the conkers and in moved the spiders en masse.  Needless to say, the conkers are going to make a comeback this weekend if the weather holds.

Great tip, I will have to give that a try as we usually get those huge ones coming in at this time of the year and they are so fast when you try to catch them.

It's a bit of a 'meaning of life' answer really, Mum!

If they work, they keep spiders out, if they don't they seem to keep spiders out - or is it the other way round..;0)
