Pick hips, haws, apples and elderberries for hedgerow jam and make.
Have a go at blackberry chutney.
Pick more apples, cook and freeze.

By seven little chutney action was happening but this was the action in the kitchen

So much for my plans  ::) no rest for the wicked, beans will wait till tonight i suppose

More tomato sauce today - although have nearly a freezer drawer full now, so shall have to stop soon and dehydrate the rest   Tomato skins carefully saved and stashed in the freezer for future production of tomato powder  ;)

Dehydrator currently processing a second batch of apple rings and plenty more still on the trees  ::)

No point we dont eat them. Lol i cant justify cutting a plant down when its in full swing seems terrible after last year. But i have put 50lb worth of beans on freecycle, sharing is caring hehe

Started early today  :)  We are reaching critcal mass in the freezer so pulled out all the unprocessed gooseberries.  I had topped and tailed a lot and cooked them down to freeze for later use, but had 2 huge bags of untouched ones.

Gooseberry jelly then, so stewed them last night and set them to drip.  They have made a lovely coloured sparkly clear jelly.  There was a bit that didn't fit in the jars, so that is in a small bowl in the fridge.  Just had some on a buttered bagel and it is lush.  Just the right balance of tart and sweet for me  :D

Engaging smug mode now  ;)
