Just found this on a weather newsgroup:

"Enough consistency and agreement between 3 models. Again, GEM 12z operational is out on its own, but it was for my forecast for the start of September and it will probably prove to have been wrong.

**"On Sunday 8th September, the UK will be experiencing a cold plunge, as a depression tracks Eastward and the anticyclone, which will settle over the south of the UK early next week, retrogresses into the Atlantic. Daytime temperatures will be cooler than average in many areas and night frosts will affect rural areas in the North, but some rural areas of England and Wales may also be affected by frost. Snow may well fall over the highest parts of the Scottish mountains"**"

It is a bit of a way off yet, but might be worth thinking about what to do with any tender veg you have outdoors.

according to MetOffice, I think wet and windy (up to gale force) is being forecast in 6-10 days, especially the north and west but might affect most of the country.  Great - my french bean frame is already falling apart and swinging, held together with emergency bits of string.  I guess I'll be taking it down sooner before it totally collapses  ::)

It is not an official forecast, just an enthusiast on a newsgroup who looks at different model outputs and issues a 10 day forecast when the models show consistency over several model runs.

Here is the link:

Ooooh, that means it's getting close to log burner time  :) how I love the change of the seasons.
My husband's a water sign, I'm an earth sign, together we make mud :-)
