To follow onions

Hi guys,

This is now my second year  on the plot and need a little help.  I was wondering whats the best veg to follow onions, that can be planted now? i was thinking turnips? not sure if this works or not.

Help please i don't like seeing empty beds.

It's about a month late for sowing turnips, might be worth a try though, if you have some seeds
