Well, they've grown remarkably in the last week or so. But so have the green caterpillars that have colonised the curds. After soaking one head in brine all day, finding half a dozen of the blighters, another three turned up in the pan. The Shetlands have got an unexpected treat of a eight calabrese!

Just PSB for me after this year ...calabrese and cauli are now on my banned list. Too much trouble for just a few heads that may or may not grow to a decent conclusion, and even then there is a final wildlife problem. I grow 40 odd different veg, fruit and herbs. Something has to give. I'm supposed to be a local enthusiast growing sustainably ...  not an imitation of an unsustainable supermarket display of decadence. :D
