Once I'd learned to disregard the sowing instructions on the packet about planting from February onwards and even more so the mystical advice about pre-chitting them on kitchen paper etc and simply concentrated on soil preparation and a May sowing, I really get a great deal of pleasure out of growing and harvesting them
