Vinca minor 'Gertrude Jekyll'
« on: August 12, 2013, 11:24 »
I planted this last year for ground cover in a partially shaded corner of my garden and I haven’t had a single flower let alone an abundance as promised by crocus!

What am I doing wrong? It doesn’t seem to be a difficult plant  to grow

Maybe they need more time, or is the soil too rich in nitrogen?
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

They do take a while to get going, so as googegirl said, give 'em time  :)

Plus the vinca doesnt not have a flowering season as such, can flower just when it feels like it.

The nursery where I bought it have said

'I think it may be struggling to establish itself  with the dry hot Summer, best to irrigate until established'

So it is now watered and I will wait and see.
