Greenhouse lurker...
« on: August 05, 2013, 09:49 »
As Mumofstig has instructed me to be brave, (and a few other things as well), here is a pic of the 'Black Krim', which lurks just inside the greenhouse door, and viciously attacks anybody who dares to enter...

I think it is ready to pick now, and if I'm not back by lunchtime, then could someone send out a search party, and inform Mrs G that I won't be needing the bruschetta I was planning..;0)

It is a bit of a brute, isn't it! Theye are only a couple more on that plant too! It is in the corner of the GH which gets the most sun all day, so I suppose that's one of the reasons...

Just to return to normal though, there are others scattered around the garden which are still small and green and on weird stems which go off i all directions!!

Thank you Granny, I think I've plucked up courage, and had to inform Mrs G that I'm going out to get it soon, as there's a small split in the top which means that it's the right time...

Aaaargh...

Thanks, Devon, here's the pic taken after I braved the final attack and won the skirmish, which has left a few scars, but the mental disturbance will take longer to heal of course..;0)

It weighed 14 oz, and is as ripe as a ripe tomatoes ripe bits, so Mums was dead right about giving it a squeeze!

I've sneaked a lunchtime bruschetta already, and Mrs G is going to build a salad around the rest of it this evening!

You're right, Mogs, part liquid feed from nettles and comfrey and part Tomorite!
