:tongue2:  I bought another bagful home and put them in the bottom shelf of the cupboard. While having a tidy up this evening I found two canvas bags stuffed to the gunnels with the darned things. Plus a bowlful on the side.  I turned the Zeppelins into soup yesterday. Two down ...........

Sorry for the spelling mistake. Gunwales is what I should have writ  :D

So, Zeppelin soup. This uses 900 g of Zeppelins. It doesn't matter about the seeds as it all gets blitzed. It should get passed through a sieve but I couldn't be bothered as it was only for me and the old man. If you're cooking for a dinner party then please sieve  :)

I shall return with the recipe shortly. I'm supposed to be typing invoices at the minute

I'm getting tired of eating them now. We've had courgette curry, courgette fritters, courgette pasta etc.

Can hardly believe how many i'm getting every week.

From my three plants I have had precisely seven courgettes so far  :( :(

Goodness knows why they just seem to grow mostly male flowers up until now

I have taken to leaving the damned things to grow too big, risking the wrath of the dear neighbour who planted them for us. She takes the big ones for animal feed. We and the chickens have had enough, and more than enough!

I somehow have to tell neighbour I can't preserve any more tomatoes either, I have enough bottled and frozen and chutneyed to last years! There are still loads on the plants.

Talking to a Bulgarian lady (interpreter) today and she is also fed up of toms and courgettes. I'm glad it's not just me being British!

Having found out how to stop my first-time Di Nizza courgettes rotting off from the flower end despite having been pollinated (pull the dying flower off - unlike Defender it doesn't part with it easily) I now have several of them to look forward to as well as the Defender, although I'm not exactly smacking my lips at the prospect of yet more courgettes for dinner - it may be a pleasing light green and a cute round shape but it's still a courgette!
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!
