My shallots and onions are still in the ground but have lost all their leaves.  They look alright otherwise as far as I can see without digging them up.  Some of the onions are still rather small though.  The garlic all look fine.  Could it be cutworm?  If so strange the garlic's not affected.  Any ideas?

Mine did that last year and I put it down to all the rain, but somebody else thought it was snail damage.

Seems as if somethings eaten them, so I'd dig them up, they won't get any bigger now. If you leave them to regrow I  think they'd use some of the goodness from the bulb to do it

Thanks for your thoughts.  Yes I think its time they came up.  Puzzling what might be eating them though.  I didn't think slugs and snails usually ate onions.
