BER isn't a disease so there's no need to remove them unless you need the space and there are no unaffected fruit and no new flowers to look forward to.

It's usually caused by irregular watering, with alternate drying out and flooding being the very worst thing you can do to toms (they will very likely split when ripening as well as developing BER, although some varieties are more prone to one than the other.)
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

One of the best things about being an orang-utan is the fact that you don't lose your good looks as you get older

Just discovered I have BER on a few of my toms. However it was only on a couple on two of my plants, the rest seem OK. Does it mean that if it affects some fruit on a plant the rest on that plant will get it as well? The plants are full to overload with fruit and just starting to ripen.

Due to the very hot weather of late I have had to keep watering about 3 times a day (they are in pots). I think a couple of times this constant watering was missed and the plants were a bit dry before I gave them their drink.

It only effects fruit forming when water levels are low - new fruit will not get it unless watering is inadequate again at any time.
