You say tomaetoes I say tomaatoes
« on: July 17, 2013, 10:41 »
Just got back from 10-day holiday to find my steak tomatoes and cherry tomatoes have miraculously survived not being watered during that very dry period. The cherry ts look OK but the leaves on the steak ones (can't think of the real name coeur de boef in French) are a bit yellowish at the edges. Is there any special treatment I should give them apart from water (already done) and a liquide feed?

Sound OK to me, although if you have fruit already set you may find the dryness followed by a soaking makes some of them split, although that usually only happens when they are getting ripe.

Remove the worst of the leaves when they start to die off, although that's something that you would expect to do in normal circumstances.

Beefsteak (Eng.) or Heart of Beef (Fr.) - vive la difference!
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!
