I did plant some outside for the first time and they are doing better than the greenhouse ones.
That said.... They are bound to get blight so I'm not that clever after all.
I have my own cement mixer and not afraid to use it!!

NOOOOOOooooooo!  Don't say that!  :( don't tempt fate - I have my fingers and toes and eyes and ears crossed that we will have a blight free year!

.... don't forget the 3 solid weeks of heavy rain to come in August  ::) yep, sounds familiar (remember the Boscastle flash flood of 2004)  Up until then my outdoor plum toms were on course for the best ever harvest.  Then I decided to have 3 weeks off work in August, and on the first day there was a cracking thunderstorm in the morning  and then it just rained and rained and rained.  It stopped raining after the August bank holiday weekend when I was back at work but the damage by then was already done

Don't worry strangerachael, I take some of the blame too.  Three weeks ago we installed a new water butt, connected to the guttering on the shed, and it hasn't blinkin' rained since!    ::)
No matter how many plants I have in my garden, I can always find room for one more.
