Finally got the keys to my plot today.....been knocking around here for a while now. Cramming information into my brain in waiting for today and it's finally come! Can't wait to get stuck in. Come on six foot weeds.....I'll have ya!

A good time to get a plot as there is not much that can be started now so you have plenty of time to concentrate on the clearing without thinking about having to put stuff in the ground, plus the weather is decent at the moment.

Actually there is plenty you can sow this time of year.  Beetroot, turnips and spring cabbage come to mind.  Also lettuce, fennel, swede and a last sowing of French beans.

I think it is quite good to get some crops in, even if it is only a small patch.  It feels good to get something for all your effort.

Make sure you take photos at the start, so you can look back and see how far you've come  :)
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Lots of work but hey ho I'm a young lad I can handle it....planning in spending the rest of the year turning it from a shambles to paradise...well kid of.....

Start a Diary Red,  You could get a row of runner beans started, if September is good, and it often is they will crop.
