Garlic
« on: July 11, 2013, 19:42 »
Started to get worried about my garlic so I took the plunge and harvested it.

Here's what I got.

Early purple white is the most of it from my own seed last year that had rust.

I've had my fingers crossed most of the growing season as I have onion white rot in another raised bed.  My hard necks are fine and my soft necks even better Wheww :)

They are all now draped over the garden arch drying off.

Cheers,   Tony.
I may be growing OLD, but I refuse to grow UP !

A question:  Is it best to keep the largest garlics for next season's seed or like onion sets, the smallest?

Here are mine.   These are Provence Wight.   Lautrec Wight did well for me too.  Solent Wight a disappointment, but probably my fault as left them in too long.  All ready much earlier than usual for me this year.

Sorry the pic is upside down.  If you click on it it turns the right way up.  Not sure why this is!

don't really know but it was the biggest ones I planted for this crop.

We have still got the Elephant garlic to go but I don't think it is ready yet.

Plus my boy was in school and I want him to be there when they come up.  :)
