black fly

hi all found black fly all over one runner bean plant all rest ok i crushed them shoiuld i spray and what with will soapy water do it and what damage do they do aas all my beans are in flower

I had the same problem on one of my runner bean plants which  I noticed at the weekend so yesterday sprayed the whole of the plants with washing up liquid diluted in water.  And today - Hey presto the little mites are all gone.  The seem to smother the insects and make the leaves and stems slippery I believe.  It's harmless to the flowers and totally safe.
